2024 Ford F-150 towing capacity

The 2024 F-150 does not have one universal tow rating. Ford Canada publishes configuration-specific limits based on engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain, wheelbase and required towing equipment. TowGauge currently has 6 engine families wired into the live selector.

Why TowGauge does not stop at “13,500 lb”

Ford explicitly says towing capability varies with trim, option content and payload. Your truck's actual selector-table configuration and vehicle-specific payload are part of the answer.

Payload can become the limiting factor

Ford's selector notes say trailer tongue load, passengers and cargo all need to fit within the vehicle's applicable payload, GVWR and rear GAWR. TowGauge leaves the payload check unresolved until you enter the carrying-capacity value for the specific truck.

Loaded trailer weight matters

Ford's towing selector describes Maximum Loaded Trailer Weight and says additional options, passengers, cargo and hitch weight must be accounted for. The useful question is what your combination weighs when it is actually ready to travel.

COMMON QUESTIONS

2024 F-150 towing FAQ

What is the maximum towing capacity of a 2024 Ford F-150 in Canada?

Ford Canada lists a maximum available towing figure of 13,500 lb for a specific 2024 F-150 configuration: SuperCrew, 6.5-ft box, 4x4, 3.5L EcoBoost V6, with the Tow/Haul Package and optional Max Tow Axle. Other configurations have lower ratings.

Can I use 13,500 lb as the tow rating for every 2024 F-150?

No. Ford states towing capability varies with vehicle configuration, options, cargo and passengers. The applicable selector-table rating and the vehicle's labels need to be checked for the specific truck.

Why does payload matter when towing an F-150?

Trailer tongue weight, passengers and cargo all add load to the truck. Ford's towing guide says the vehicle must have enough payload for tongue load plus passengers and cargo without exceeding applicable vehicle ratings.
