2026 Ram 1500 towing capacity

Ram Canada lists engine-level maximum towing figures and publishes standard-box performance specifications for individual 2026 trims. TowGauge stores those as separate source records so a headline maximum does not become every truck's rating.

Engine maximum and trim specification are different things

Ram Canada says towing capacity can be affected by the truck's specific configuration, passenger weight and cargo. TowGauge preserves that distinction in the calculator.

What the calculator can select today

Ram Canada publishes these values for the standard box size shown for each trim. TowGauge converts the metric values to pounds and keeps payload vehicle-specific.

Why payload is not auto-declared

Ram's model specs include a standard payload value, but Ram also warns that options, equipment, passengers and cargo can affect payload and towing. TowGauge therefore waits for a vehicle-specific payload value before completing that check.

GCWR is retained from Ram

The standard trim records keep Ram Canada's published GCWR. A loaded vehicle weight is still needed before TowGauge treats the combination-weight check as complete for the customer’s actual truck.

COMMON QUESTIONS

2026 Ram 1500 towing FAQ

What is the maximum towing capacity of a 2026 Ram 1500 in Canada?

Ram Canada states that the 3.0L Hurricane Standard-Output Twin-Turbo I6 can tow up to 11,220 lb when properly equipped. The rating of a specific truck can be lower depending on its configuration, passengers and cargo.

Does every 2026 Ram 1500 tow 11,220 lb?

No. Ram Canada publishes different towing capacities by engine and different standard specifications by trim. TowGauge keeps the engine maximum separate from the trim record used in the calculator.

Why doesn't TowGauge automatically use Ram's published payload number?

Ram's model page publishes a payload for the standard configuration, but options and equipment can change the carrying capacity of an individual truck. TowGauge asks for the truck-specific label value when a payload-aware check is needed.

START SIMPLE

Choose the truck. Enter the trailer weight.

TowGauge handles the published limits behind the scenes and tells you what, if anything, still needs another piece of data.
