DATA ACCOUNTABILITY

Corrections should be visible and source-led.

TowGauge treats a challenged towing value as a verification task, not a reason to substitute another website's number. The applicable manufacturer source is checked first, and unresolved conflicts stay unresolved until the evidence is strong enough.

WHEN A VALUE IS QUESTIONED

How TowGauge reviews it

1. Re-open the source

The current manufacturer document or official technical page is checked against the exact configuration represented by the record.

2. Check scope

Trim, engine, drivetrain, cab, axle, wheelbase and required towing packages are separated so a rating is not transferred to a neighbouring configuration.

3. Record the change

Verification dates and source notes are updated when a production rating changes. Material source conflicts remain documented rather than hidden.

4. Revalidate production

The production dataset validator, build, smoke checks, browser QA and sitemap route integrity checks must still pass before the correction is considered live.

WHAT HELPS WITH A DATA ISSUE

Useful evidence

The strongest correction evidence is the exact TowGauge page plus the manufacturer source or vehicle label that conflicts with it. Screenshots should include enough context to identify model year, configuration and the rating being challenged.
